I picked up this pattern, and lovely hand-spun wool, from the Handspinner Having Fun (on the Isle of Skye, Scotland) when on a geology break – I ended up not actively taking part in as my broken foot complained and swelled… what else could I do, but invest in some needles and wool and start knitting?!
If you ever go to Skye, check out the little shop – Bev hand dyes and spins her own wool! Quite frankly, it was like being in paradise!
The pattern is simple to follow, required 4.5 or 5mm (circular) needles, aran weight yarns or DK weight knitted with 2 strands. and has numerous variations!
Give Bev a call and she will sort you out with both the wool and the pattern in no time!
I set to to knit the hat for my mother, who just loves it!
